When the Detroit Land Bank Authority (DLBA) needed to fill 44 new positions quickly last month, EctoHR, Inc. came to the rescue! With an infusion of $52M from the Hardest Hit Fund via HUD, the DLBA is in full-blown ramp up mode and EctoHR is part of the team helping it attack blight in the city of Detroit!
Within three weeks of becoming the DLBA’s HR partner, EctoHR created, marketed, and staffed a job fair that resulted in the hiring of 20+ people in less than a two-week period. More positions will be filled over the next month from the pool of over 100+ highly qualified candidates.
Five EctoHR HR professionals staffed and hosted the job fair on May 30 at the University of Detroit Mercy Law School’s Detroit campus. The EctoHR staff met 275 candidates, over 60% of whom were highly qualified! With a fast-paced and efficient process, every attendee got to spend at least a few minutes talking to hiring representatives directly.
As a result of the DLBA and EctoHR’s work, over 20 new jobs were created and Detroit residents have been put to work quickly!
The DLBA is the leader in the fight against blight in Detroit by being dedicated to returning Detroit’s vacant, abandoned, and foreclosed property to productive use. The focus is to stimulate neighborhood stabilization and economic growth through the acquisition, management, and disposition of tax reverted and vacant properties. The Detroit Land Bank Authority is one of Detroit Mayor Duggan’s critical focus areas, and was a key part of his campaign platform.
