Steve Williams, President of EctoHR, Inc., will be one of the presenters at the AGC 2013 Construction HR and Training Professionals Conference, in October at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel Chicago. The conference will provide two days of unique opportunities for HR, training and workforce development professionals in the construction industry
Steve will be presenting “The 7 Severe Sins of HR in Construction”, with a focus on the key issues that General Contractors face in 2013. Steve’s session is a plenary session for all of the HR professionals in attendance.
Throughout the conference there will be breakout sessions tailored specifically for either HR or training professionals. Some of the HR-oriented sessions include:
• Developing market-based pay programs.
• Managing absences for employees with long-term illnesses.
• OFCCP’s new outlook on compensation analysis.
• The Affordable Care Act’s effects on multi-employer plans, seasonal workers & Davis-Bacon.
• Encouraging employee participation in the company’s contributory retirement plan.
The training sessions will include a case study on the connections to recruit veterans; an NCCER update on craft training, Build Your Future and other Initiatives; and a game-based technique to train supervisors to be an extension of HR.
